Keeping Burj Khalifa’s windows looking spotless isn't as simple as a quick wipe-down. The building is equipped with 18 special building maintenance units that make window washing possible. These units are mounted on tracks and stored inside the tower, hidden from view when not in use.
A team of skilled workers climbs into manned cradles, which can access the entire facade from top to bottom. As they move down the glass exterior, the process of cleaning can take up to four months, with workers carefully scrubbing every window. Up to 36 people can be involved at any given time to ensure the Burj Khalifa stays as shiny as possible.
