What was the inspiration for the design of the Burj Khalifa?
The main inspiration for the design of the world's tallest building was the shape of the Hymenocallis flower. It resembles the triple letter Y, reflected in the shape of the ground floor, which gives stability and protects Burj Khalifa from winds. The lead architect, Adrian Smith, was also inspired by the geometric patterns of traditional Islamic architecture.
