A friend recommended I book the Burj Khalifa ticket and Desert Safari while I was in Dubai last month. Visiting the tallest building in the world was on my bucket list anyway. The best experience I had was the dune bashing. It was so uplifting! Our driver Nasir was really skilled and obviously loves his job because he gave us one hell of a ride. I loved every minute of it! Later in the camp there was live entertainment and a BBQ dinner, which was decent enough. I can't wait to visit Dubai again just to experience dune bashing again!
While my husband was awestruck with modern aspects of Dubai, such as the Burj Khalifa, I preferred exploring the desert camp we visited. I especially enjoyed getting a henna tattoo. The tattoo artist who painted my hands explained the origins and some of the traditions of henna tattoos. I find traditional Arabic culture fascinating, and I'm glad I had a chance to experience camel riding as well. They are such gentle and gorgeous animals!
